Another Op'nin, Another Show!
It's time to brush up your Shakespeare – the initial casting and creative team has been announced for the Watermill's production of Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate.
Olivier Award-winner Rebecca Trehearn will take on the lead role of Lilli in the show, opposite David Ricardo-Pearce as Fred. The new production directed by Paul Hart will feature a cast of actor-musicians, with the rest of the ensemble to be announced.
The production will also be choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing's professional Oti Mabuse, who recently oversaw the choreography of the Southwark Playhouse and Mercury Theatre Colchester production of Ain't Misbehavin'.
Mabuse said: "I am so excited to be choreographing the classic musical Kiss Me, Kate and working at The Watermill it is such a great venue and a privilege to work with this team. It is also another first for me to work with a cast of actor-musos – "Another Op'nin , Another Show"!"
Kiss Me, Kate is designed by Frankie Bradshaw with musical supervision and orchestration by Tom Attwood. Lighting is designed by Rory Beaton with sound designed by Tom Marshall. James Bennett is associate choreographer.
