Details have been confirmed for the upcoming new theatre in King's Cross, created by the London Theatre Company.

The company, responsible for the Bridge Theatre in east London, will open the new 600-seat venue in winter 2021. The space is based on the same layout as the Bridge and will host a programme of new commissions and classics.

The new theatre will be situated on Lewis Cubitt Square, adjacent to London's Coal Drops Yard. It will be designed by award-winning Haworth Tompkins, in collaboration with TAIT. The nine-floor building housing the venue is being designed by architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and will be the location of Facebook's UK operations.

Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr of London Theatre Company said: "We've been delighted with the welcome the Bridge has received, and with the intimacy, comfort and adaptability of Haworth Tompkins'/Tait auditorium. We're looking forward to joining the vibrant King's Cross neighbourhood in a few years' time."
