Photos have been released showing Kelsey Grammer and Clare Burt in rehearsals for Big Fish, ahead of the show's opening next month.

Directed by actor and director Nigel Harman, the musical marks the first stage adaptation of Daniel Wallace's best selling 1998 novel, which was turned into an Oscar-nominated film in 2003. It also marks Grammer's first appearance on a London stage.

Grammer is best-known for playing Dr Frasier Crane in the NBC sitcoms Cheers and Frasier, for which he won five Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe awards. In 2010 Grammer made his Broadway musical debut playing the lead role of Georges in La Cage Aux Folles, for which he won a Tony Award nomination. Here he plays the lead role of Edward Bloom.

Clare Burt will play Bloom's wife Sandra, with previous credits including London Road, Sunday in the Park with George, Coram Boy and Into the Woods. Joining them will be Matt Seadon-Young, Frances McNamee, Forbes Masson, Jamie Muscato, Laura Baldwin, Landi Oshinowo, Dean Nolan, and George Ure, Sophie Linder-Lee, Gemma McMeel and Jonathan Stewart.

The musical comes courtesy of John August and Andrew Lippa, based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and August's screenplay.

Big Fish runs from 7 November to 31 December at The Other Palace, with previews from 1 November.
