Arts charity IdeasTap to close in June

Arts charity IdeasTap, which provides funding to people in the creative industries, has announced it will close in June.

IdeasTap chair Peter De Haan said: "Over the last six years we have worked hard to make IdeasTap what it is today, and I am enormously proud of what we and our members have achieved together. Ultimately, however, we simply do not have the funding to continue."

The organisation has awarded over £2.3million in funds since it was established in 2008 and currently has a membership of nearly 200,000.

According to a statement from the company, "Until 2 June, you'll still be able to enter competitions, support crowdfunding projects, book for Spa events, browse jobs and read our magazine as usual. We want to go out with a bang so we'll be offering some extra special prizes right up until we say goodbye."

De Haan, whose father was Saga founder Sidney De Haan, added that IdeasTap will "honour all existing commitments to our members, partners, funders and suppliers."
