Take a trip down memory lane to the 1990s and the heyday of Aussie soap operas with bonzer musical Summer Street at Waterloo East Theatre. Packed full of fun, we chat to Kyle E Minogue to find out why it is completely unmissable!

1. The nostalgia

With the 30th anniversaries of Neighbours and Home and Away last year, Summer Street provides the perfect opportunity to recapture the glory days of Kylie and Jason and to relive the joy of tuning in every week to watch the captivating tales from Down Under. This new musical comedy transports audiences to the world of '80s and '90s Aussie soap opera by delving "behind the scenes" and into the lives of the soap stars themselves, to find out just what they're prepared to do for fame and the success of the show.

2. The feel good fun

As four Aussie soap stars try to resurrect their careers, there are hilarious and unexpected consequences with plenty of surprising twists and turns, worthy of any great soap opera!

3. Chock full of toe-tapping numbers

The original score is written by Andrew Norris in tribute not just to Aussie soaps, but to '80s and '90s pop music, with songs such as "Lucky Plucky Me", a pastiche of Kylie Minogue's "I Should Be So Lucky" (1988) and "Don't Give Up", a homage to Minogue and Jason Donovan and the power ballads and sugar pop of the '90s. The incredible cast's stellar musical experience brings the songs to life.

4. The tip-top cast

The cast features the incredible Julie Clare (Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, In the Midnight Hour, Good Rocking Tonight), Simon Snashall (The IT Crowd, Spooks, Humans, Silent Witness), Sarah-Louise Young (Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, An Evening Without Kate Bush, La Poule Plombee, Julie Madly Deeply) and Myke Cotton (My Fair Lady, Hey, Mr Producer, Paddington 2).

5. Relatable and enjoyable for all!

Summer Street is perfect for soap fans, musical fans, and anyone who wants an enjoyable evening out with some toe-tapping sunshine, drama, and fun! Tune in to watch dramatic tales with nerve-wracking and exciting ups and downs!
