Finborough Theatre announces autumn season

The Finborough Theatre has announced its autumn season, which will run from August to November 2015.

Led by artistic director Neil McPherson, the venue will celebrate its 35th year with a season of new plays and adaptations.

The season opens with the premiere of My Eyes Went Dark by Matthew Wilkinson, starring Thusitha Jayasundera and Cal MacAninch (25 August to 19 September). It plays alongside the European premiere of This Heaven by Aboriginal Australian writer Nakkiah Lui from 30 August to 15 September.

The Sweethearts by Sarah Page receives its premiere from 22 September to 17 October. It plays alongside Horniman's Choice, four one act plays by dramatists from the 'Manchester School' – Harold Brighouse, Stanley Houghton and Allan Monkhouse – in their first UK professional productions in over 90 years (27 September to 13 October).

The seventh consecutive year of the Finborough's new plays festival, Vibrant 2015 – A Festival Of Finborough Playwrights (25 October to 12 November) will feature 12 staged readings of new plays.

And rounding off the season is the UK premiere of a "classic of Yiddish theatre", Treasure by David Pinski (20 October to 14 November), in an adaptation by former literary manager of the RSC, Colin Chambers.
