William Finn and James Lapine's award-winning musical Falsettos will have its European premiere at The Other Palace at the end of August, it has been confirmed.

Originally premiering on Broadway in 1992, the piece follows a man, Marvin, as well as his wife, lover, son, psychiatrist and neighbours. Divided into two parts, March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland, the show was written against the backdrop of the AIDS crisis.

It was nominated for seven Tony Awards, winning two for Best Book and Best Original Score. The show was recently revived on Broadway, where it was nominated for a further five Tony Awards.

Finn and Lapine's other credits include the musical adaptation of Little Miss Sunshine, which is currently touring the UK after having its European premiere at the Arcola Theatre in east London.

The London production of Falsettos will open at The Other Palace on 30 August, and runs until 23 November. Cast and creative team are to be announced.
