Equus tour dates announced following Theatre Royal Stratford East run

Tour dates have been announced for Ned Bennett's production of Equus, following the production's run at Theatre Royal Stratford East.

The English Touring Theatre has announced dates at Cambridge Arts Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, Bristol Old Vic, The Lowry, Northern Stage and the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

Peter Shaffer's play follows what happens when psychiatrist Dr Martin Dysart is tasked with uncovering why a behind a teenage boy blinded six horses in a Hampshire stable. The piece is inspired by a true story and looks at the relationships between devotion, myth and sexuality.

The piece will be directed by Bennett, with designs from Georgia Lowe. It forms part of Nadia Fall's first season as artistic director at Theatre Royal Stratford East. The show runs in Stratford East between 15 February and 11 May 2019.
