Clare Burt joins Kelsey Grammer in Big Fish: The Musical

The show opens at The Other Palace later this year

Clare Burt will join Kelsey Grammar in the new musical adaptation of Big Fish when it opens at The Other Palace in November.

Playing Sandra Bloom, Burt joins Nigel Harman's production of the musical by John August and Andrew Lippa, based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and August's screenplay.

Burt won the UK Theatre Award for Best Performance in a Musical for her performance in Flowers for Mrs Harris, and also originated the role of Jan in London Road at the National Theatre. Other credits include Sunday in the Park with George, Coram Boy and Into the Woods.

Big Fish marks Grammer's West End debut, after being nominated for a Tony for his lead role in La Cage Aux Folles on Broadway.

The remainder of the cast include Matt Seadon-Young (Les Misérables), Frances McNamee (Little Shop of Horrors), Forbes Masson (Travesties), Jamie Muscato (Lazarus), Laura Baldwin (Shrek), Landi Oshinowo (Shrek), Dean Nolan (Fiddler on the Roof) George Ure (Sweeney Todd). They are joined by Sophie Linder-Lee (The Rocky Horror Show), Gemma McMeel (Titanic), Tanisha Spring (Beautiful) and Jonathan Stewart (Guys and Dolls).

Big Fish runs from 7 November to 31 December at The Other Palace, with previews from 1 November.
