Casting has been announced for the upcoming London run of Notre Dame de Paris, at the Coliseum.

The show is the 20th anniversary production, which originally opened in Paris in 1998. It is based on Victor Hugo's 1831 French novel of the same name and tells the story of the hunchbacked bell-ringer Quasimodo and his love for the gypsy Esmeralda.

Current principle cast members of the world tour will perform in London, including Angelo Del Vecchio (Quasimodo), Hiba Tawaji (Esmeralda), Daniel Lavoie (Frollo), Richard Charest (Gringoire), Alyzée Lalande, Idesse (both Fleur-de-Lys), Martin Giroux (Phœbus) and Jay (Clopin). Further casting will be announced in due course.

The show will be performed with English surtitles and a live orchestra from 23 to 27 January. The music is composed by Richard Cocciante, with lyrics by Luc Plamondon.

Notre Dame de Paris was commended in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2000 for its record success for a musical in its first year. "Belle", the single released, sold 2.5 million copies and the album sold over 3 million copies.
