The London run of Bat Out of Hell has extended for a further two weeks.

Jim Steinman's musical is due to open at the Coliseum in London on 20 June and will now run to 5 August.

Tickets for the two-week run are now on sale, ahead of previews, which run from 5 June.

The show has been created from Steinman's original Bat Out of Hell album which was released in 1977 and performed by Meat Loaf. Steinmen and Meat Loaf then followed up the album with Bat Out of Hell: Back Into Hell which was released in 1993.

Songs on the albums included "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth", "Bat Out of Hell" and "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)". The original album sold over 50 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling albums in history.

The musical will feature tracks from the albums as well as two previously unreleased songs. It tells the story of a rebellious youth who falls in love and is set in a post-cataclysmic city ruled by a tyrannical leader called Obsidian.

Andrew Polec stars as Strat and Christina Bennington is Raven. The show is directed by Jay Schieb.

Bat Out of Hell runs at the London Coliseum from 20 June to 5 August, with previews from 5 June.
