The Cardiff venue has announced its first season under new artistic director Dan Jones
Dan Jones has unveiled his first season of programming as artistic director of The Other Room.
The season will open with a new revival of Caryl Churchill's A Number, directed by Walrus Theatre founder Ed Madden (Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons). Running from 13 February to 3 March, the show sees a father-son relationship complicated by cloning technology. It will star Steve Raine and Brendan Charleson, playing the roles taken on by Michael Gambon and Daniel Craig when the show opened in 2002.
Lucy Prebble's The Effect will be revived from 24 April to 12 May, in a co-production with Swansea theatre company Critical Ambition. The play, which explores mental illness, romance and pharmaceutical drugs, opened at the National Theatre in 2012, and went on to win the 2012 Critics' Circle Award for Best Play. The revival's cast will include Hussina Raja and Nicola Reynolds.
Jones will direct Leviathan writer Matthew Trevannion's new play All But Gone from 27 March to 14 April. Examining the relationship between romance and memory, the piece's cast includes Wyn Bowen Harries, Nicola Reynolds, Elin Phillips and Callum Hymers.
