Morpurgo's Farm Boy set for Blackpool Grand, 23 Sept

The Blackpool Grand is set to house New Perspectives Theatre Company presents Michael Morpurgo’s Farm Boy adapted and directed by Daniel Buckroyd this September.

This sequel to the award-winning War Horse is a moving account of the changing face of the English countryside which arrives in the North West following  critically-acclaimed runs at both the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the 2011 Brits Off Broadway Festival in New York, plus a hugely successful UK tour. This magical tale explores the bonds linking grandfather to grandson and ultimately both to the land.

New Perspectives is the East Midland’s leading touring theatre company. The company creates inspiring, popular and critically-acclaimed programme of touring theatre.

Recent successes include the company's production of The Hired Man which toured throughout the UK during 2007/2008 before transferring to the Brits Off Broadway festival in New York during the summer of 2008.

Buckroyd’s directing credits include the critically-acclaimed Those Magnificent Men, (the story of Alcock and Brown) which toured the UK in 2010 and 2011 and also enjoyed a successful run at 2011 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has also adapted and directed Michael Morpurgo’s The Butterfly Lion starring Gwen Taylor.

Farm Boy comes to The Grand from 23 - 24 September.
