Lucy O'Byrne rose to fame after becoming the first classical singer to reach the final of BBC One's The Voice. She made her debut as Maria von Trapp in The Sound of Music UK tour in December.

We caught up with her to find out which five things she couldn't live without in her dressing room.

LOB: My dressing room changes weekly on tour but the contents are always reassuringly familiar!

LOB: The dynamic duo, my glam squad/besties/life support, Martine and Emma. Without them I'd be bald and naked…

The Blanket/Scarf

LOB: A terribly pretty and cosy blanket scarf from my sister. Anyone who knows me will testify that I am perpetually cold. As it happens, this perfectly matches my beginning costume in Act II and I have had to be reminded to remove it before going on….more than once!

The Chalkboard

LOB: A chalkboard given to me by my dresser, Emma, so we can write messages to each other. She's awesome… One might even say the 'wind beneath my wings'.

The Wig

LOB: Most asked question by visitors to my dressing room: "Oh My God! Can I try it on?"
Answer: Absolutely not… Don't touch it… Don't even look directly at it.

The Teddy

LOB: Georg The Touring Bear. Gifted to me by the lovely people at Hamley's for Christmas and named after our Captain Von Trapp because he has a very stern little face but he's a softy really!

The Sound of Music is currently touring the UK until July 2016. For further information, click here.
