Cyndi Lauper just wants to have fun at Kinky Boots opening

The creative team were joined at the Adelphi by stars including Graham Norton, Tom Daley and Beverley Knight

Kinky Boots opened in the West End last night, where Cyndi Lauper was in party mood alongside her fellow creatives Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Mitchell.

The musical stars Matt Henry as drag queen Lola, the role created on screen by Chiwetel Ejiofor. He is joined by Killian Donnelly, recently seen alongside Beverley Knight (also in attendance last night) in Memphis, as Charlie.

Kinky Boots, which follows fellow screen-to-stage show Made in Dagenham at the Adelphi Theatre, is adapted from the 2005 Brit flick about a drag queen who helps an ailing shoe company design a new line of sturdy fetish footwear.

It features songs by pop star Cyndi Lauper, a book by Harvey Fierstein and direction/choreography by Jerry Mitchell.
