1st Night Photos: Peterson Is Queen of Catwalk

The ‘original supermodel’ Robyn Peterson proved she can certainly still work a camera last night as she celebrated the opening night of her one-woman show Catwalk Confidential at London’s Arts Theatre (10 September 2009, previews from 4 September).

Peterson became one of the top models of the period, working with photographers such as Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin and designers Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent and Kenzo. Her face appeared on the covers of Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire.

In Catwalk Confidential, she tells how, as a 16-year-old fresh from Miami, she got caught up in the world of high fashion amidst the boulevards of Paris in the early 1970s. The show transfers direct from the Edinburgh Fringe, where it made its UK premiere last month (See News, 13 Aug 2009).
