Gazey & Head Lead Thriller Third Floor at Trafalgar 2

Canadian Jason Hall’s new play Third Floor will receive its European premiere at Trafalgar Studios 2 in October, directed by Russell Labey and starring The Inbetweeners’ Emily Head and Coronation Street‘s Craig Gazey.

Opening on 13 October (previews from 11 October) for a limited season ending on 5 November, Hall’s thriller is billed as “a hilarious and unsettling look at urban living today”, and chronicles the friendship forged between a young woman and her brash but “strangely attractive” neighbour.

Earlier this year, Craig Gazey left the soap Coronation Street, where he had played the character Graeme Proctor for three years. Previous theatre credits include The Tempest, Antony and Cleopatra and Julius Caesar at the RSC and Harvest at the Royal Court.

Emily Head is best known as Carli D’Amato in three series of The Inbetweeners. She will also be appearing in the film of the same name, which is released in the UK this summer.

Director Russell Labey‘s previous credits at Trafalgar Studios 2 include his own adaptation of New Boy in 2009 with Nicholas Hoult, for which he received a Whatsonstage.com Award nomination for Best New Comedy. In 1995 he won a TMA Award for Best New Musical for his original stage adaptation of Whistle Down the Wind, which he also directed.

Third Floor will be produced by Sally Humphreys Productions & Jason Haigh-Ellery.
