Cast: Two more for Our Boys & Solimeno plays Chicken

Full cast has been announced for Jonathan Lewis’ award-winning play Our Boys, which is to receive its West End premiere at the Duchess Theatre from 3 October 2012 (previews from 26 September).

Joining the already announced Cian Barry, Arthur Darvill, Laurence Fox and Matthew Lewis are: Jolyon Coy as POM and Lewis Reeves as Ian.

Jolyon Coy is currently appearing in Posh in the West End and is soon to be seen in the BBC’s Henry IV Part I & II. Lewis Reeves is a recent Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama graduate, and is currently filming Lee Nelson’s new TV series.

Our Boys won the Best New Play award in the 1993 Writers’ Guild Fringe Awards, and this first West End production will be directed by David Grindley. Grindley’s theatre credits include the Tony award winning Journey’s End (Comedy/Broadway), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Stratford, Ontario), and The Philanthropist (Broadway).

Our Boys runs at the Duchess Theatre until 15 December.

It has been announced that Cristian Solimeno will join the cast of Mike Batistick‘s comedy Chicken at Trafalgar 2 for the final week of its run from 16 to 21 July 2012.

Set in the Bronx, Chicken is billed as a “gritty play full of street-smart humour about two childhood pals, Wendall and Floyd, an unhappy wife – and a sickly rooster they are grooming for an illegal cockfight.”

Solimeno comes directly from filming on Ron Howard’s movie Rush, playing racing driver Arturo Merzario. He has performed at Shakespeare’s Globe, but is probably best known from the hit TV series Footballers Wives. He joins the cast including Craig Kelly (Coronation Street, Queer As Folk) and Lisa Maxwell (Loose Women, The Bill).

Chicken is running at the Trafalgar Studio 2, Whitehall until 21 July 2012.
