Photos: Ghost‘s Fleeshman & Levy, New London Poster

The producers of Ghost the Musical, which opens in the West End on 19 July (previews from 24 June 2011), have released a new poster image for the show’s forthcoming London run – the first such image to feature the show’s stars Caissie Levy and a ghostly Richard Fleeshman.

An image of the pair in an embrace, which will appear on the cover of the musical’s charity single “With You”, has also been released. Recorded in aid of charity Stand Up To Cancer, the single will
be released in conjunction with the show’s opening at
the Piccadilly Theatre.

The show, which is adapted from the hit 1990 film which starred Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore as lovers torn apart by a violent murder, is currently in playing Manchester Opera House where it continues until 14 May 2011.

Levy was last seen in the Broadway and West End productions of Hair, which played a five month run in London, finishing on 4 September 2010. She made her Broadway debut as Penny Pingleton in Hairspray, a role she also played on tour. Fleeshman was last seen in the West End alongside Sheridan Smith in Legally Blonde where he played Warner Huntington III. He is best known for his role in Coronation Street, where he played Craig Harris for four years.

Ghost marks the musical writing debut for the Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, who is penning music and lyrics with Grammy Award winner Glen Ballard (whose credits include Alanis Morrissette’s album Jagged Little Pill). Screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin has adapted his original screenplay.

The production is directed by Matthew Warchus and designed by his frequent collaborator Rob Howell. Choreography is by Ashley Wallen, musical supervision and arrangements by Christopher Nightingale, illusions by Paul Kieve, lighting by Hugh Vanstone and sound by Simon Baker.
