Larner’s award-winning Instinct for Kindness comes to Trafalgar 2

Chris Larner‘s Fringe First-winning one man documentary play An Instinct for Kindness will play a three week season at Trafalgar Studios 2 as part of a forthcoming national tour.

The play details Larner’s experiences accompanying his chronically ill ex-wife to Switzerland’s Dignitas euthanasia clinic.

According to press material, “This moving, bittersweet show reflects on the circumstances, morality and humanity surrounding the journey. Through a candid, poignant and sometimes comic performance, Chris explores both the profound personal implications and the wider ethical issues that surround the contentious topic of assisted suicide.”

Chris Larner is a writer, actor and director. His stage work includes Alice in Wonderland (RSC) and Wind In The Willows (National Theatre) and he has written extensively for comedy legends The Right Size and many others. His Edinburgh shows include acclaimed musicals The Translucent Frogs of Quuup (Guardian Best Musical Award 2004) and On The Island of Aars (nominated for five MTM Awards, 2008).

Directed by Hannah Eidinow (Lockerbie: Unfinished Business, What I Heard About Iraq), An Instinct for Kindness will run at Trafalgar Studios 2 from 11 to 28 April 2012 (previews from 10 April).
