WOS Photos: Shop & Girl Get Off West End Prizes
The Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of Little Shop of Horrors won this year’s Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers’ Choice Award for Best Off West End Production – the third time in a row the Southwark venue has scooped the trophy. Meanwhile, Edward Snape and Alex Armitage’s touring production of Me and My Girl won the award for Best Regional Production.
What’s on Stage Magazine editor Roger Foss visited the Menier Chocolate Factory to present the Little Shop of Horrors team with their prize, and both the cast and the venue’s artistic director, David Babani, were thrilled to have won the vote.
WHAT BABANI SAID:
“It’s a huge honour to win this award. We’ve won it for the last two years and we’ve only been going for three years – I think three out of three is an extraordinary track record! So thank you very much to all the theatregoers who voted for us and thank you very much to Whatsonstage.com. It’s very exciting. We love the show and we love the fact that so many other people love it. I hope lots more people will come and see it in the West End to see Alistair McGowan and have fun.”
