The award-winning show told the electrifying story of the night in 1956 when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis came together to make music and ended up making history. It was inspired by the actual event that took place on 4 December 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis and featured over 20 of the greatest rock ’n’ roll, gospel, R&B and country hits ever written including: 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'I Walk The Line', 'Fever', 'Great Balls of Fire', 'Hound Dog', 'Folsom Prison Blues' and 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On'. The legendary meeting seemed very authentic when the camera flashed and a screen dropped with the original photo of Elivs Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Sam Phillips, founder of Sun Records, narrates the legendary meeting and is responsible for bringing all four musicians together for one night. Ben Goddard stole the show as Jerry Lee Lewis with his remarkable piano playing and brilliant energy.
The cast was phenomenal and full of energy that kept the audience clapping and cheering after each hit song. Ben Goddard (Jerry Lee Lewis), Derek Hagen (Johnny Cash), Robert Britton Lyons (Carl Perkins), and Michael Marlarkey (Elvis Presley) had great chemistry together on stage and really took the audience back to that December day at Sun Records where history was made. Not only was the music outstanding, but the story really connected the audience with the cast. The concert the four stars put on at the end of the show was inspiring and had the audience singing along. Francesca Jackson (Dyanne) dazzled the audience with her rendition of 'Fever' and held her own against the seven other men on stage in a hot pink dress and heels. Bill Ward (Sam Phillips) gave a tremendous performance and made the story come to life of this remarkable day at Sun Records. Theatregoers were very impressed each of the cast members actually played their instrument, which brought a unique vibe to the show, worthy of a standing ovation.
After the excellent, but tiring performance, theatregoers joined the cast in the Noel Bar for drinks. The cast happily signed autographs and very much enjoyed meeting such enthusiastic fans and chatting about the production.
