The award is for visitor attractions with more than 50,000 visitors per year. Entries came from some of the City’s most well-known attractions including Manchester United Museum and Tour, Museum of Science and Industry and People’s History Museum.

Entrants for the award were judged on the overall quality of experience they provide to visitors. The judges particularly commented on the high quality and variety of The Lowry's programme combined with their commitment to our local communities in Salford and throughout the North West.

The Lowry will host the opening tour dates of the National Theatre's UK tour of The Curious Incident of the the Dog in the Night Time later this month.
