All-Female Titus Andronicus Staged at Barons Court

An all-female version of Shakespeare’s bloodiest tragedy, Titus Andronicus, is coming to Barons Court Theatre this summer.

Presented by Inside of Out theatre company, the production runs from 7 to 12 June 2011 and promises a multimedia “assault on all the senses”, created by Leah Harounoff and Leanne Rivers with guest direction by Tanith Lindon.

The play centres on General Titus, who returns victorious after ten years of bloody war, but a ritual sacrifice sparks a spiral of violence and bitter revenge that shakes Rome to its core.

The cast comprises: Valentina Gasbarrino, Leah Harounoff, Dotty Kultys, Natalie Neagle, Lucie Novak, Semane Parsons, Louise Picot, Leanne Rivers, Emily Swatton, Darcie Towers, Alisha Walker, Eleanor White and Louise Williams.

According to press material, “There is also a private preview that runs 27-30 April at a secret location in Kensington, to which we are inviting press and reviewers for a very personal private view.”
