The Royal & Derngate has announced a UK tour of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman.

Tim Pigott-Smith, who received Olivier and Tony Award nominations for his performance in Mike Bartlett's King Charles III, will lead the cast as Willy Loman.

The 1949 Pulitzer prize-winning play centres on the failed dreams and thwarted ambitions of a 60-something salesman living in Brooklyn. The last major revival was the RSC production starring Antony Sher and Harriet Walter which transferred to the West End.

Directed by Abigail Graham, the production runs in Northampton from 8 to 29 April 2017, before touring to Cambridge, Bath, Malvern, Exeter, Canterbury, Portsmouth, Edinburgh and Truro.

Further casting and ticket details to be announced.

Death of a Salesman will run at the Royal & Derngate from 8 to 29 April 2017.
