Full casting announced for The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole

Luke Sheppard directs this new stage adaptation of Sue Townsend’s novel

Full casting has been announced for the Menier Chocolate Factory production of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾, which opens at the Southwark venue in July.

Luke Sheppard directs a cast including Dean Chisnall (George), Lara Denning (Doreen), John Hopkins (Mr Lucas/Mr Scruton), Barry James (Bert), Kelly Price (Pauline) and Gay Soper (Grandma).

The titular role will be shared by Benjamin Lewis, Ilan Galkoff and Samuel Menhinick, with Asha Banks, Georgia Pemberton and Lara Wollington sharing the role of Pandora, Jason Rennie, Callum Mcdonald and Connor Davies as Barry, and Amir Wilson, Edward Hooper and Max Robson as Nigel.

Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary‘s musical adaptation of Sue Townsend’s novel returns in Adrian’s 50th birthday year, following an initial run at Leicester Curve in 2015.

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ runs at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 26 July to 9 September, with previews from 14 July.
