Old Vic Community Company to take over new pop-up venue

This summer, the Old Vic Community Company will take over a new pop-up venue on Waterloo Millennium Green to present Rise, a show exploring the impact of living in a city where the temperature is rising.

Written by Deirdre Kinahan and directed by Alexander Ferris, the production will use music and movement as well as discussions and stories to explore ideas surrounding humans and their environment.
There will be 200 community participants who will collaborate with a professional creative team to deliver the production in the temporary theatre which will be partially created from reused and recycled materials.
The community company will also collaborate with the Old Vic and Flying Object, a creative agency, to use technology to create an interactive experience and allow audiences new ways to engage with the play.
Rise will run at Waterloo Millennium Green from 10 to 21 August. All tickets are free and will be released on Wednesday 22 June through the Old Vic website.
