Stephen Sondheim’s musical opens at the National Theatre this week

Production images of the National Theatre's revival of Follies have been released. The show is is due to open this week.

Imelda Staunton stars alongside Janie Dee and Tracie Bennett in Stephen Sondheim's musical about a reunion between a group of Follies girls at a theatre that is about to be demolished.

The show is directed by Dominic Cooke and features an ensemble cast including Julie Armstrong, Norma Atallah, Josephine Barstow, Jeremy Batt, Peter Forbes, Philip Quast, Edwin Ray, Gary Raymond, Adam Rhys-Charles, Jordan Shaw and Zizi Strallen.

Follies has a book from James Goldman and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. It originally opened on Broadway in 1971 and was directed by Harold Prince and Michael Bennett. Songs included in the show are "I'm Still Here", "Broadway Baby" and "Could I Leave You?".

Follies runs at the National Theatre until 3 January.
