Fresh from their Academy Award success with La La Land musical theatre writing duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are back with a new musical film, The Greatest Showman.

Inspired by the life of PT Barnum, The Greatest Showman is written by Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon, directed by Michael Gracey, with original music by Pasek and Paul. The cast features Academy Award nominees Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams, alongside a cast that includes Zac Efron and Rebecca Ferguson.

Pasek and Paul's theatre credits include Dogfight, Edges, and the smash hit Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen.

Jackman is no stranger to musicals, he won a Tony Award for his role in The Boy from Oz and made his West End debut in Oklahoma! in 1998. He also starred as Jean Valjean in the film adaptation of Les Miserables.

The Greatest Showman will open in UK cinemas from 1 January 2018.
