Disney's Peter and the Starcatcher to get UK premiere?

The Broadway production won five Tony Awards

Peter and the Starcatcher, the multiple Tony Award-winning play based on the 2006 novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson and adapted for the stage by Rick Elice, will receive its European premiere when it flies into the UK next year, according to sources.

The play, which ran on Broadway in 2012, provides a backstory for the character Peter Pan, and serves as a prequel to J. M. Barrie's Peter and Wendy.

Luke Sheppard (In the Heights) is said to be helming the production, produced by Paul Taylor-Mills, which will play a Midlands venue for Christmas 2016 before embarking on a UK tour and ending up in London.

The production won five Tony Awards during its Broadway run including best actor for Christian Borler.
