Dates confirmed for return of Jesus Christ Superstar

Timothy Sheader's award-winning production of Jesus Christ Superstar is to return to Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in 2017.

The show, which just won the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical at the Evening Standard Awards, played at the open air venue earlier this year.

Jesus Christ Superstar will return to Regent's Park on 11 August 2017 and will run for 41 performances until 16 September.

Sheader's production has designs by Tom Scutt, choreography by Drew McOnie and musical direction by Tom Deering.

The show starred Tyrone Huntley – who also won the Emerging Talent Award at the Evening Standard Awards for his turn as Judas – and Declan Bennett as Jesus.

Casting for the run is yet to be announced. Public booking for the show opens at 11am on 15 December.
