American playwright Bill Rosenfield's latest play, 46 Beacon is to transfer to Trafalgar Studios.

The show had its world premiere run at The Hope Theatre in Islington in 2015, where it ran for four nights. It transfers to Trafalgar Studios 2 from 5 to 29 April this year.

46 Beacon is set in 1970s Boston as Alan and Robert spend an evening in a theatrical hotel and the piece explores how gay politics have changed. Rosenfield has won two Drama Desk Awards and a Richard Rodgers Award in 2006.

He said: "I couldn’t be happier that a semi-autobiographical account of a special night in my life is opening in the West End. Ultimately the play came out of my need to express just how far and fast gay politics had progressed, in a touching but, I hope, also humorous way, and I am really excited to bring it to a wider London audience".

The play is directed by Alexander Lass and is produced by Oli Sones and Ed Sinke.

46 Beacon runs at Trafalgar Studios from 10 to 29 April, with previews from 5 April.
