Barney Norris premiere and new musical in Arcola Summer season

The theatre will also see the return of opera festival ”Grimeborn” and plays by Rebecca Lenkiewicz and Kristiana Colón

Barney Norris will premiere his first play since the award-winning Visitors at the Arcola Theatre as part of its upcoming Summer/Autumn season.

Eventide will run from 23 September to 17 October 2015, ahead of a short national tour. Described as "a love song, an elegy, a celebration", the play is set round the back of a Hampshire pub and tells the story of three people whose worlds are disappearing. A co-production from Up in Arms and Arcola Theatre, Eventide will be directed by Alice Hamilton.

First in the season will be new chamber musical The House of Mirrors and Hearts, by Eamonn O'Dwyer and Rob Gilbert. Ryan McBryde's production, which runs from 2 July to 1 August, focuses on a dysfunctional British family haunted by their past.

August will see the return of the Arcola's opera festival Grimeborn, now in its ninth year. Running from 4-29 August, full listings are to be announced.

The final two plays in the season will be Octagon, Kristiana Colón's follow-up to 2012 Arcola sell-out bt i cd only whisper, and Rebecca Lenkiewicz's Jane Wenham: the Witch of Walkern, coming to London following a tour.

They will run from 16 September to 17 October 2015 and 5-30 January 2016 respectively.

Casting for the all productions in the season is to be announced.
