Comedian and writer Katy Brand will debut her first play 3Women at Trafalgar Studios in May.

Olivier Award-nominee Anita Dobson (Angie in EastEnders) will lead the cast in the production, joined by Debbie Chazen (The Girls), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Legends of Tomorrow) and Oliver Greenall (The Loch).

The piece, which follows three generations of women, examines how feminism and women's rights are and have been perceived. It is set in a hotel room where a family is reunited for one evening.

Brand said: "These movements are not so straightforward as the media would sometimes have us believe but wrapped up in the chaotic and all-too-human lived experiences of real women, from the Suffragettes to those who currently campaign for trans-gender rights. We are all simply trying our best to be 'modern women' (whatever that means), making mistakes, and blundering on as best we can!"

The show is directed by Michael Yale, who recently directed Late Company at the same venue.

3Women runs from 18 May to 9 June with previews from 15 May.
