Casting has been announced for Tim Crouch's new play Adler & Gibb, which runs at the Royal Court from 19 June to 5 July 2014 (previews from 13 June).

The play centres on Janet Adler and Margaret Gibb, two conceptual artists whom, according to a leading critic, are the "most ferociously uncompromising voice of their generation". But with the loss of Adler in 2004, things start to change.

The cast features Amelda Brown (A Mouthful of Birds) as Gibb, Brian Ferguson (Earthquakes in London) as Sam, Denise Gough (Desire Under the Elms) as Louise and Rachel Redford (It’s a Family Affair) as Student.

Written and directed by Crouch, Adler & Gibb is co-directed by Andy Smith and Karl James. Music and sound design is by Ben and Max Ringham, with set design by Lizzie Clachan, lighting by Natasha Chivers and film design by Joe Lawlor and Christine Molloy.

Also at the Royal Court Theatre this summer is The Art of Dying, written and performed by Nick Payne.

Payne is a former member of the Royal Court’s Young Writers Programme and returns to the venue following the success of Wanderlust and Constellations, for which he won the Evening Standard Award for Best New Play.

His other plays include Incognito at High Tide Festival, The Same Deep Water As Me at the Donmar Warehouse and Blurred Lines at the NT Shed.

The Art of Dying, which runs in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs from 1 to 12 July directed by Michael Longhurst, first featured as part of The Big Idea: Death in last summer's Open Court Festival.
