Getting in in Five Minutes

Yesterday’s performance of Secret Window, Secret Garden was a nervy one! The press was in and the audience was fairly small (although over the Edinburgh Fringe average, apparently!). However, we had some lovely comments from those who had come to see us. Naturally, the play will grow and develop over the duration of the festival, and I hope we can attract more and more theatregoers.

Fear and Misery of the Third Reich also had its first performance yesterday, and our fellow company members also received some very positive feedback from their audience.

Today is the beginning of the runs of the fantastic Blood Brothers and the electrifying dance show 1,2,3, 2,2,3, 3,2,3, Triplets! After a couple of hectic dress rehearsals the shows are underway. Now, in a completely different venue and with the added pressure of a paying audience, the shows seem new and exciting once again!

Edinburgh tip for performers #2: You need to set up (“get in”) and get the set down (“get out”) within five minutes! Have a plan or rota organized BEFORE you arrive for the technical and dress rehearsal – last minute panics are not good!

If you’re in Edinburgh, watch out for members of the Lincoln Company flyering on the Royal Mile and outside the C venues!
