More Production Woes for Cast of The Cry???

Last week we brought you the story of how The Cry by Badac Theatre had been forced to move venue four times in as many days before finally settling into its new space and opening just one day late
(See The Goss, 6 August 2010). On Sunday (8 August), literally five minutes before the performance was due to start C venues staff informed the cast that because noise from the show was seeping through the floor and interfered with the show downstairs, they would not be allowed to start until 20.15, 45 minutes after the advertised start time. This left the queue at Pleasance Dome waiting to be walked over standing for another three quarters of an hour. Amazingly, most of them did. Then on Tuesday morning lead actor Steve Lambert awoke in agony and was rushed to accident and emergency at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by his concerned fellow cast members. After spending most of the day there it was diagnosed as severe chest muscle strain and torn ligaments. Doctors advised him that if he took two or three days off the show he should make a full recovery but otherwise he risked the possibility of permanent damage. Thus performances on Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 August 2010 have been cancelled. Lambert is adamant and determined that the show will restart on Friday this week. Has no-one told him that’s Friday 13th?
