The dark powers choose Macbeth, who becomes their executor, feeding on his disdain for slick politicos and his overwhelming desire for control over his fate, a desire rooted in loss which will drive both him and his wife to murder and madness.
Countless young lives ended on the battlefield, but the old continue to grapple for power, oblivious to the demons spawned amidst the blood and barbed wire.
Directed by Mark France at 41 Monkgate Terrace, York, performances take place from 28 September until 8 October. Tickets are £12 (£8 concession). Visit the Mooted Theatre Website.
