Piaf Tribute Show Heading to Chester, 24 Nov
UK Touring’s production celebrating the music of legendary French chanteuse Edith Piaf arrives to Chester in two weeks.
Piaf went from being a Paris street urchin to international talent, but her life was anything but La vie en rose. Towards the end, Piaf turned to drugs to find comfort and solace – making some to suggest she was never able to believe that she was loved by countless thousands of fans the world over.
Loiseau came from a French family of singers and her passion for Piaf developed at a young age. Since her debut at the Royal Festival Hall in February 2002, she has given recitals in England, New York and France.
The show features live music with Fiona Barrow on violin and Edward Jay on accordion. Jay has created original arrangements of all the music for the show, and has also arranged and performed music for Kneehigh Theatre’s recent production of Noel Coward’s show Brief Encounter.
Piaf – the songs appears at Chester’s Forum Studio on 24 November at 7.30pm. The production moves to The Rose Theatre, Ormskirk two days later.
