Five Reasons To See….Yes, Prime Minister

Yes, Prime Minster opens at the Lowry tonight. Based on the hit TV show – it stars Simon Williams as Sir Humphrey Appleby and Richard McCabe as PM Jim Hacker. We caught up with Simon to find out why you should go and see this hit comedy on tour which played to sell out audiences in London and returns there at the end of the tour.

1 . The classic double act on stage
It’s so good to see Jim Hacker trying to outwit Sir Humphrey about joining the Euro….and coping with the 21st Century.

2. Blackberry and other contemporary touches
Not totally routed in the past, it’s a thrill for the audience to see Sir Humphrey and Bernard sabotaging Jim’s Blackberry.

3. Timely
You couldn’t make it up! Witness Jim struggling to keep the coalition together – this all sounds familiar!

4.  Sex!
Jim, Bernard and Claire get on their knees asking for God’s guidance with a sex problem.

5. Superb Writing
It’s wonderful to see the original writers, Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn, are still as witty and accurate as ever – full of satire and outright farce.

Yes, Prime Minister is at the Lowry from 9 – 14 May.
