Me, As A Penguin‘s fringe dates at Lowry

The Lowry continues its commitment to fringe theatre with a Studio Season which includes new play Me, As A Penguin which opens later this month. The play is written by Tom Wells and directed by Chris Hill.

Stitch is hitting the gay scene of Hull. Or at least dipping his toe in the water while staying with his heavily pregnant sister Liz and her shabby sofa-loving partner Mark. But why won’t Stitch let anyone into the bathroom even though Liz is dying for a pee? And who is the man in the giant penguin costume?

Me, As A Penguin is described as a comedy about knitting, penguins and Battenberg cake from the company that brought you Company Along The Mile, a black comedy set in Blackpool which ran at the Lowry last year.

The play runs at the Lowry Studio from 27 – 29 May.
