Suitcase’s Clunk at Lowry, 22 April

Liverpool-based The Suitcase Ensemble in association with the Unity Theatre presents the new comedy Clunk later this month.

With absurd humour, endearing characters and charming puppetry,
Clunk is a refreshing new comedy which follows the daily drudgery of
three cohabiting young adults who are struggling to engage with a world
that baffles them.

Following a premiere in June last year, the show has been
further developed by The Suitcase Ensemble with additional visual and
puppet direction from Liz Walker of the world renowned surreal puppet
company Faulty Optic.

The production has been made possible by support from Arts
Council England, Unity Theatre and from Liverpool-based creation centre
Hope Street, who have nurtured The Suitcase Ensemble from its
inception.

Peter Ward, director of Hope Street, said: “The Suitcase
Ensemble is a group of enthusiastic, creative and dedicated artists who
create exciting and imaginative theatre. I was impressed by their
scratch version of Clunk and inspired by the style of the theatre they
had developed; quite bizarre and totally different to anything being
produced in the Merseyside region.”

Following tour stops at Liverpool and Bury, Clunk ends its tour at The Lowry in Salford Quays on 22 April.
