New UK tour dates announced for Jersey Boys

The musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is embarking on its second nationwide tour

New dates have been announced for the second UK tour of Jersey Boys, which starts later this year.

The West End production closed in March after nine years in London, running at the Prince Edward from 2008, and moving to the Piccadilly Theatre in 2014. The new UK tour will open in Birmingham on 16 December.

The newly announced tour dates include Theatre Royal Plymouth (17 to 28 April 2018), Nottingham Royal Concert Hall (9 to 19 May), Alhambra Theatre, Bradford (22 May to 2 June), Norwich Theatre Royal (5 to 16 June), Sheffield Lyceum Theatre (19 to 30 June), Aylesbury Waterside Theatre (3 to 14 July), Cliffs Pavilion, Southend (17 to 28 July), Newcastle Theatre Royal (31 July to 11 August), His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen (14 to 25 August), Wolverhampton Grand Theatre (28 August to 8 September) and Belfast Grand Opera House 11 to 22 September.

Prior to these dates, the tour will visit Liverpool, Milton Keynes, Stoke, Hull, Sunderland and Glasgow.

The musical, which features the hits such as "Sherry", "1963 (Oh What a Night)", and "Big Girls Don't Cry", tells the true story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It is written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio and lyrics by Bob Crewe.
