Casting has been confirmed for Theatre Royal Bath's production of A Little Hotel on the Side, which runs from 15-31 August 2013, featuring Richard Wilson, Richard McCabe and Hannah Waddingham.

The final production in its summer season, John Mortimer's adaptation of Georges Feydeau and Maurice Désvallières' farce is directed by Lindsay Posner and Cal McCrystal.

The play is set in Paris at the turn of the 19th Century, where a young wife decides to teach her husband a lesson by having an affair with her neighbour in a seedy hotel. But everyone they know - including the Inspector of Public Morality - seems to have turned up on the night in question.

Richard Wilson will play the role of Basiten. Best known for his screen roles including Victor Meldrew in One Foot in the Grave and Gaius in Merlin, his stage credits include Twelfth Night (RSC) and Whipping it Up (Theatre Royal Bath/West End).

Richard McCabe, who will play Monsieur Pinglet, won an Olivier award this year for his performance as Harold Wilson in The Audience. His other theatre credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night, Othello (RSC) and Yes, Prime Minister (West End).

The rest of the cast comprises Hannah Waddingham (Kiss Me, Kate, The Wizard of Oz, Into the Woods), Robert Portal (Noises Off, Venus Observed, Cain) and Natalie Walter (Smash!, Lingua Franca, 50 Ways to Leave your Lover).

In other casting news, Adrian Edmondson is set to join the previously announced Rufus Hound in Chichester Festival Theatre's upcoming production of Neville's Island.

Running from 11-28 September 2013, Edmondson will play Gordon, one of four businessman sent off on a team building exercise in Tim Firth's comedy about a disastrous outward bound expedition.

Adrian Edmondson rose to prominence during the 1980s in the BBC comedy series' The Young Ones and Bottom. Other screen credits include The Supergrass, Jonathan Creek and Holby City. He has also appeared as a regular TV presenter on programmes such as Ade in Britain and The Dales and was a finalist in the 2011 series of Let's Dance for Comic Relief.

Further casting is still to be announced for Angus Jackson's production.
