Stephenson to Play Pan in Poole

Coronation Street’s Debra Stephenson, star also of BBC 1’s The Impression’s Show, is to take the lead role in Lighthouse’s very first home-produced pantomime, Peter Pan, which opens on Friday 10 December.

Multi-talented Debra is currently cooking up a storm in ITV’s Marco’s Kitchen Burnout and will be filming the brand new series of The Impression’s Show, in June, before preparing for her panto role as ‘the boy who never grew up’.

Having trained as an actress at Manchester Metropolitan University School of Drama in 1993, Debra has developed herself as an extremely versatile performer, particularly adept at comedy, having appeared in numerous shows as a very talented impressionist and vocalist.

Debra will be joined by CBBC presenter Michael Absalom as Captain Hook’s sidekick Smee, and former Emmerdale star Gary Turner, who will play Captain Hook. Actress and vocalist Kate Weston (Wave 105) plays Mrs Darling, and The Dingbats comedy acrobats will perform their spectacular act and also play the Ship’s Crew.

With swashbuckling sword fights, buckets of fairy dust and a tick tocking croc, Peter Pan will run at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts from 10 December until 9 January 2011.
