Peter Curtis and Nick Barrington, co-founders of the kid entertainment company, Nurture Rights have announced a multi-year deal with Birmingham Stage Company, one of the world's premiere companies producing theatre for children and their families.
The upcoming production of Dinosaur Roar! Live on Stage! is a stage adaptation of the Paul Stickland's best-selling picture book, Dinosaur Roar. The show will feature giant dinosaur puppets based on designs from the book, and is scheduled to begin touring next year.
David Wood OBE, the show's stage writer and the country's leading writer and director of plays for children, takes audiences back to the prehistoric times when dinosaurs walked the earth in collaborative efforts with producer Neil Foster of Birmingham Stage.
Foster says he is excited for the opportunity to resurrect these much loved creatures, "One of the joys of working in children's theatre is you find yourself being immersed in extraordinary subjects and the chance to learn all there is about dinosaurs in partnership with the National History Museum is really a dream come true!" The production is set to begin development immediately, and creative processes are currently underway.
As Nurture Rights continues their efforts to reinvent pre-historic times, the company has started working with a paleontology team at the National History Museum to develop authentic dinosaur property for children under the age of 6, while also incorporating engaging displays for young dinosaur lovers. In part of creating an environment which will give a hands-on dinosaur experience there will be an online world for pre-school fans to explore, a touring dinosaur exhibition and an IMAX theatre show.
