Jamael Westman, Beverley Knight and more join Sharon D Clarke for Caroline, or Change West End opening

The hit revival arrives in the West End following its runs in Chichester and Hampstead

Caroline, or Change had its West End opening night last night at the Playhouse Theatre, with Sharon D Clarke starring in the show as Caroline Thibodeaux.

Directed by Michael Longhurst, the hit revival of Tony Kushner and Jeanine Tesori's musical first ran in Chichester before transferring to the Hampstead Theatre in north London. When it arrived at Hampstead Theatre it was given a five-star review by critic Sarah Crompton, who said it was "all in all, a thought-provoking and satisfying joy."

Guests at the opening night included Hamilton star Jamael Westman, Beverley Knight, Amanda Abbington, Preeya Kalidas and Kaisa Hammarlund.
