Matthew Durkan

Matthew Durkan is a professional actor originally from Manchester, now based in London. He appeared as Fred in the 2025 production of A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic, directed by Matthew Warchus. His other major West End credits include playing Jimmy Righton in The Man in the White Suit at Wyndham’s Theatre and Alfred in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead at the Old Vic.

He has also performed at the Hampstead Theatre as Jack Jopling and Reverend Polkinghorne in Reykjavík. Further stage work includes The Secret Garden at York Theatre Royal, Kiki’s Delivery Serviceat Southwark Playhouse, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at the Sherman Theatre. On television, his credits include Outlander, Wedding Season, and Coronation Street.
