Jonathan Sayer

Jonathan Sayer is an award-winning writer, actor, and producer best known as a co-founder and company director of Mischief, the theatre company behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery. Born and raised in the North West of England, he trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

Alongside his collaborators Henry Lewis and Henry Shields, Sayer co-wrote Mischief’s stage and television projects, including the BBC adaptations of their hit comedies. He has performed extensively in the West End, on Broadway, and internationally, and continues to develop new Mischief productions. In addition to his theatre work, Sayer co-authored The Play That Goes Wrong: The Complete Script and the memoir Mischief Makers. His work has earned Olivier and Tony Awards, and he remains a driving force in British comedy theatre.
