James Gaddas trained at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. In the West End he has played John in The Girls (Phoenix Theatre), Bill in Mamma Mia! (Novello), Dad in Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace), Yvan in Art (Wyndhams), Crispin in A Chorus of Disapproval (National Theatre) and Craze in A Passionate Woman (Comedy Theatre)

His touring credits include The Narrator in Rocky Horror Picture Show, Jim in Fisherman’s Friends, Walter in This House (National Theatre), King Arthur in Spamalot, Captain Hook in Peter Pan, Edmond in The Messiah and Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls.

On television, recent and notable appearances include Grace (ITV), Marlow Murder Club (Monumental), Sister Boniface (BBC), Hollyoaks, Casualty, Vincent, Holby, Jonathan Creek, The Camomile Lawn, Tracey Beaker, Heartbeat, Backup and The Bill. He is widely known for his long-running roles in Bad Girls (Neil Grayling, five series), Waterloo Road (Alan Dixon), Coronation Street (Vinnie), Emmerdale (Ged Simmons), Medics (Dr Robert Nevin, four series), and Class Act (Inspector Latham, two series).

His film work includes Starter for Ten, Girl’s Night, The Pied Piper, The Last Days of Summer, and The Human Bomb.
